About Alicia Maury

Alicia Maury Alicia Maury is a contemporary artist. Maury's paintings are inspired by the simplicity and beauty of nature with beautiful forest colors, the valley with different flowers, the air that you can feel it when it is touching you and murmuring melodies in your ears like a fresh rainy day. You can see also clouds dancing in the sky as well as listening to the wind's musical rhythms. You can find shapes, colors and moments of weather and drama. Her goal is to attempt to express something more than the landscape.

Her artwork has been featured national and international museums and galleries. Maury's paintings have published in newspapers, art magazines, books, TV programs, and the internet. Many of her artwork is in private collections. Her inspiration comes from the beauty of nature and childhood memories. Although Maury paints and exhibits a variety of subject matter, her first love has always been landscape. Her paintings are serene and peaceful with vivid colors and capture the spirit of the landscape. Her composition has contrasted with a great element of design.

Maury's paintings have been in an exhibition in many national and international museums, galleries, private collections, TV Shows and books. She has taught fine art and ceramics workshops in major universities, museums, public libraries, community agencies, and institutions.
Maury has received numerous awards and honors for her contribution to the arts and community. Maury credits her ability to master in a variety of techniques to her experience as an art teacher at New Jersey Public School receiving the "Teacher of the Year Award' from New Jersey Governor.

"I am retired from the New Jersey public school in June 2011 after teaching fine art for many years, sharing my passion with a hundred students yearly and painting as often I can. I became a full-time landscape painter in June 2010. Now I have more time to pursue my passion for painting and traveling".

Master's Degree in Fine Art Education, from Kean University, Union, New Jersey. Maury holds a Fine Arts Teacher certificate from New Jersey and Florida State.
